We Go High: Innovation for Liberation

At We Go High, we confront the pervasive impact of racist structures that have plagued our society for centuries. We unite with those who share our vision of a more just world where everyone is afforded the same opportunities and rights.

Our mission is crystal clear: to equip and empower Black women to seize their rightful place as architects of change. We had one-to-one and group listening sessions with Black women. We distilled our hopes into a simple yet profound vision: vibrant communities where every person has access to the necessities of life: affordable, safe housing, healthcare, education, youth programming, fair wages, & equal opportunities. These fundamental pillars of dignity and justice have been denied to too many for far too long.

Fredrick Douglass said, “Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did, and it never will.” Together, we are creating a grassroots movement to build Black women’s political power and influence. Our current organizing project is to demand an end to the education gap in Minnesota and to make Minnesota a leader in educating Black youth in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) fields. The education gap creates income gaps, housing gaps, and health gaps. For this to change, it takes active, strategic, organized, collective engagement. Together we can make it happen, and we will!
